Every Thanksgiving, I make sure that I am home! I miss my family all the time so I always look forward to this time of the year. Aside from seeing my loved ones, I also love eating my Mom’s delicious stuffed turkey! Here is her recipe. Feel free to add more ingredients if you wish. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 onion, diced

1 green pepper, diced

1 cup butter

3/4 cup diced celery (celery seed can be used, maybe a tsp)

2 Eggs, beaten

2 cups canned chicken broth

1 bag(s) Pepperidge Farm herbed seasoned stuffing (is crumbs, not cubes or croutons and is sold in a blue & white bag), 16 ounces

1 bag(s) soft bread cubes, 16-20 ounces

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

2 tablespoon dried parsley flakes (or can use fresh parsley)

1 teaspoon oregano

1 Reynolds turkey-sized baking bag

1 turkey

Directions:

Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add the herbed seasonings and Bread cubes.

Step 2: In another large mixing bowl, add the bread cubes and the Pepperidge Farm herbed seasoned stuffing. Stir until well mixed.

Step 3: Place a frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 4: Add butter and allow it to melt.

Step 5: Add the onions, celery, and green pepper. Saute until all everything is translucent.

Step 6: Transfer the mixture into the crumbs and bread cubes.

Step 7: Add two eggs and beat until well combined.

Step 8: Season with 1 tsp of garlic powder, poultry seasoning, oregano, and parsley. Toss until well mixed.

Step 9: Add the chicken broth and stir making sure that the stuffing is moist.

Step 10: Stuff the turkey with the mixture but make sure not to overfill it.

Step 11: For any leftover, put it in a casserole dish and place it inside the fridge to chill for at least 45 minutes, then bake it inside the oven for extra stuffing.

Step 12: Rub the turkey with soft butter making that it is coated completely.

Step 13: Add 2 tablespoons of flour inside a baking bag.

Step 14: Place the turkey inside the bag and seal it tightly.

Step 15: Make 3 small cuts on top of the bag. These will serve as ventilators.

Step 16: Roast the turkey to perfection.

Step 17: Serve and enjoy!
